The first ever Brunei Super Idol Competition was a great success and preparation is on the way for Season 2 as we speak. A last minute change of plan and with a complimentary ticket to the show courtesy of the organizer, I thought I would drop by for a few quick snaps. Little did I know, I was there from the start to the very end (close enough) 

The 11 finalists (minus 2, with Jody Ho and another contestant dropping out due to personal reason) look very relax and I can tell most of them remembered me by their smile and big Hello! The night started off with the judges and contestants being introduced by Summer Ho, host of the evening. The competition started with a fast song selection in round 1 and only the top 7 will go on to round 2 with a slow ballad. Judges for round 1 were Teacher Danny, Philip, Donny on the technical aspect of their singing performance with Teacher Moreen on the fashion style of each contestant.

For those who managed to get past round 1, it meant they have to perform even better because the results after will decide if they can go on to compete in Super Idol Taiwan. Round 2 was also more nerve-wrecking with singer/star 黄文星 from Taiwan as guest judge. Round 2 judges also include Teacher Mariata, Angie and Donny.

Picking the winner is no easy task and with the spot light set on stage, the winner was announced. Peter Chin became the first ever Brunei Super Idol | 超级偶像 with Neo Leong a close runner-up. The prize presentation was followed by a autograph/photograph session with 黄文星. With the awards and trophies up or stored away, it’s time to start practicing again because I know Season 2 is going to be back, bigger and better!
